Andrew holding a fish
My wife and I have been lure fishing for over 20 years and have travelled Australia extensively looking for fishing opportunities. Portland Roads is one of those must visit fishing locations that has to be seen to be believed. When we first arrived at Portland Roads we were taken aback by the sheer beauty of the place and the amount of fishing options available. While we were throwing lures around we caught coral trout, barramundi and trevally within literally 200 metres of each other.

Portland Roads has land based fishing options as well as a boat ramp for tinny use. The Beach Shack owned by Alan and Liz Rossiter is where we stayed and it has a magnificent view of the ocean and the coastline. From the deck of our beautiful cabin we could clearly see packs of trevally smashing baitfish on the shoreline. The Rossiters were great hosts and very helpful if there was anything at all that we needed. If you are a Fly / Lure fisherman this is the place for you.
